MarineProvider Wins Marine Equipment News Excellence Award in the e-Commerce sector

Oslo, Norway - December 2001 - MarineProvider ASA the market leader in maritime e-Procurement integrated solutions, was honoured today with the Marine Equipment News Award for Excellence and Innovation in the marine equipment supply sector. MarineProvider ASA was presented with the award within the e-commerce sector during the Ship Repair & Conversion exhibition in London.

MarineProvider was independently chosen by Marine Equipment News' readers and players in the marine industry. An expert award committee recognized MarineProvider as the marine industry's most solid e-procurement vendor. The most outstanding benefit of MarineProvider is full integration into existing back-office purchasing systems AMOS (Xantic) and SNAPS (ShipNet) - both Xantic and ShipNet now include the MarineProvider software adaptors standard in their latest releases. Also security is a key issue clearly differentiating MarineProvider from other vendors.

"It is an honor for MarineProvider to be selected for this first Award for Excellence and Innovation for the e-commerce sector. I was delighted to receive the message that MarineProvider had won the award", says Collin Lewis, CEO of MarineProvider ASA.

"Being a market leader, today more than ever, requires technological innovation, an adherence to open standards and strong third party relationships to implement e-Procurement solutions," said Collin Lewis . "In the highly competitive maritime e-Procurement arena, MarineProvider has consistently set the standards for secure integration."

"Awards such as this further distinguish MarineProvider from other maritime e-Procurement vendors", said Lee Fife, Chief Technology Officer of MarineProvider ASA. "Customer-centric, enterprise-wide integration adaptors from the market leader webMethods and our proprietary software built in close co-operation with industry stalwarts is what sets MarineProvider apart."

The award was handed out to Collin Lewis by Edwin Lampert of Aylward Publishing during the Ship Repair & Conversion Exhibition in London last week (picture 1 - picture 2).

MarineProvider, headquartered in Oslo, is a highly secure and neutral Internet-based e-procurement integration solution for the maritime industry. MarineProvider is listed on the Oslo OTC, has offices in the US, the United Kingdom, and Hong Kong, and has a strategic partnership with OceanConnect, the global and independent online marketplace for marine fuels, products and services.
